About the studio

Manchester-based. Music-obsessed. Making prints since 2017.

How we started

This Charming Print began as a side project: a few screen-printed posters for local gigs that ended up on people's walls instead of lamposts. By the time we'd sold out our third run, it was clear this was more than a hobby.

We set up a proper studio in Manchester's Northern Quarter in 2017. The neighbourhood suited us — surrounded by record shops, rehearsal spaces, and the kind of pubs where bands still play midweek. The energy feeds the work.

What drives the work

Every print starts with music. Sometimes it's a specific gig — the light, the crowd, a particular moment between songs. Other times it's an album that shaped how we see the world. We try to translate those listening experiences into visual ones.

We're not illustrators who happen to like music. We're music people who found a way to make what we hear visible. That distinction matters in the final product.

Process and materials

We work across three techniques: giclée printing for fine detail and colour accuracy, screen printing for bold limited editions, and occasionally letterpress for typographic pieces. Paper matters enormously — we use Hahnemühle cotton rag for giclée work and French Paper Co. stock for screen prints.

Every print is checked by hand before shipping. If the registration is off by a millimetre or there's a speck in the ink, it gets pulled. We'd rather bin a print than send out something we wouldn't hang ourselves.

Commissions and collaborations

We work with venues, labels, and festivals on bespoke poster commissions. Past clients include independent promoters, record shops, and arts organisations across the UK. If you've got a project in mind, get in touch.
